About us
We know and understand that all children learn and grow at different rates. We encourage our staff to help our children meet their developmental milestones at their own passe with encouragement and guidance.
We have educated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff to help all the children in our care learn basic language and math skills. We also feel strongly that it is important to offer a bilingual environment, to the best of our abilities, for your children to explore and learn.
Physical activity is a major component of our day at Ponpon daycare. We believe that to help build strong and healthy minds you must have a strong and healthy body. All classes are outside for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. The children are free to run around and engage in group games in our spacious outdoor play yard. Also, at Ponpon Daycare, we are proud of our large indoor Romper room (Gross motor room). Here, the children are free to run, tumble, skip, jump, and just have fun. All classes have access to this room at least once a day. All children will be encouraged to learn through play in our center, after all, playing is a childs only job.
Our center offers a very healthy menu which is created using the Canadian Food Guide. We feel that offering the children healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks will help encourage them to learn and abide by healthy eating habits while in our care and beyond.
We see the importance of different arts at our center. Every day, the children will have an art activity to do with their teachers. These activities will either be directed by an educator or supplies may be left on a table so the children can have the freedom to explore and create something using their own imagination. The children in our care will also be exposed to music, or a music class, that will be presented to them by their teacher, every day. They can come together, play with different instruments and sing and dance. Our center will have special guests from the community come in to teach our children about the world around them. We feel it is important for the children to learn about their environment and what they can do to help keep it safe and clean for them to play and live in.
