Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
I am from Pittsburgh pa suburbs. I have always loved art and hair and makeup. I attended cosmetology school at Vo/tech while still in high school. I have been doing hair and makeup ever since I have worked at department stores as a beauty advisor, makeup artist, beauty supervisor, and lead makeup artist then I decided that I wanted to do more. I wanted to add other services and use all of my talents so, I went full time freelance and started Nicole Grayson Makeup and here we are.
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
Other face painters and makeup artists. I will try looks they have done and spend lots of time practicing. I have 6 mannequin heads and laminated practice sheets that I work on constantly when I don't have a job
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
I strive to make my customers happy. They are the reason I am able to have a business in the first place. I always tell them to please speak up if something isn't right. I can't fix it if you don't speak up!
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
An older lady I had as a client she was alone and depressed her husband just passed and she came to get her makeup done she was in tears smudging her mascara when we were done lol! She said I made her feel so beautiful and happy and that made me cry with joy. I love nothing more than to make a client feel awesome and look gorgeous it makes my job worth while
