Kristin H. asked:Help! I need someone that can replace our upstairs a/c unit (it is completely dead). A guy came out and repaired the unit before we bought the house, and he was a rip-off. Within a year, there was a leak, it was out of Freon and there was water damage on much of our ceiling. He came out again and changed the pan underneath the unit in the attic (with my help, which he insisted he needed and when I wasn't capable enough, I was told to call someone over to help him), complained about the drive time to come here for literally as long as it took him to drive it, he really didn't smell too very great and that was a bummer but I could deal if the air started pumping again, gave no information about further damages and charged a ton of money. The unit was supposedly under warranty for the next year after that but after making many calls to no avail, I decided I didn't want him to work on another thing in my home ever again. Within the year, the entire unit met its death in the middle of the summer and we have been in mourning of cool air on hot days since. Mr. A/C just A.in't C.ooling! In summary, I need someone that is HONEST, TRUSTWORTHY and willing to replace the unit (with parts and labor) for a reasonable amount of money. Summer is coming quick and my children don't like it when I'm burning up and fussy - I don't like it either. Also, as is fitting any time that a large expense is upon us, our washing machine joined ole' A.in't C.ooling in the grave and we need to purchase a new one. Chamblee area 1600 sf condo end of block townhome. Two 2 ton units replaced/moved to new slab and two standard furnaces in place plus one aluminum screened vent. The top floor furnace is about 15 years old a rheem with repeated problems. The upstairs AC unit is original 30 year old that sits in wall that would otherwise be a side vent area. both in the hot attic space not the easiest nor hardest access. Bottom units: AC is out back next to garage door, you can see the spec on it. Original furnace in basement -- both have real easy access. Need Hoa permission to put both ac's next to drive behind some bushes on a concrete or block slab. Will consider ALL BIDS LEFT in my mailbox on or before July 15th. Address 4170 Dyouville Trace, 30341, mailbox is out front. If you need more info ask here and I will take a picture for all to see below. Please no direct contact, you can come by anytime to check it out and see the ac out back and the other in the wall. Leave card with quote. Its not rocket science. thanks for your time in advance.
