About us
Our company owner, Paul W. Guckin, has more than 47 years in the appliance service & repair industry. In the early 1960’s, he started his first washer service business, humbly named Guckin’s Washer Service. He quickly realized that his customers needed a service company that could service all of the appliances in their home. Over the next several years, he began to offer expert repairs on all major household appliances including washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, icemakers, and garbage disposers.
Through his career, which spans nearly a half century, he has seen first hand the evolution of household major appliances. Appliances in the 1960’s were “mechanical monsters” that were literally built to last a lifetime. They were solid, heavy, and were centrally engineered with mechanical componentry.
Today, appliances are marvels of technological advancements. While they are not necessarily made like they used to be, they still prove to be a necessary part of our daily lives. They typically have many flashing lights and a plethora of buttons that control them. They are centrally engineered for efficiency and utilize low voltage relays, printed circuit control boards, variable speed motors and controls which are extremely complex to diagnose.
