About us
Partex Design Build Ltd. is a small design builder, specializing in residential major renovations and additions in the GTA for over 40 years.
We deliver high quality for a medium price. Partex has all of the expertise and project partners to provide you with all of the services you will need for your project, including budgeting, design and architectural design, HVAC design, engineering, surveys, Committee of Adjustment process, building permits and an excellent relationship with our skilled trades covering all disciplines. They are all "tried and true".
Please contact me via email so I may reply with detailed information on Partex including client references, images of previous additions, insurance details, sample design build contract, and, most importantly our project budget spreadsheet. Our budget sheet is a living document that serves both parties throughout the entire project. Initially, it is used as a budget template to guide us in the initial design phase, providing cost feedback as we design so there are no surprises later.
You will never end up with a design that you cannot afford.
The budget sheet also serves contemplate various options so you may compare and make intelligent decisions before the build begins, to finalize our scopes of work. During the build, the budget sheet serves to track payments, client purchases (vanities, tile, etc.) and any additions or deletions to the scope of work that you have authorized. In its final stage, it also tracks any items outstanding that we need to complete in order to close out our contract.
This budget sheet sets us apart from 90% of other builders, providing a very cost conscious and transparent process, guided by our 35 years of experience and solid understanding of market value effects on the design and final product.

Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
I was born and raised in the GTA, in the west end. My grandfather started Par-Tek Engineering And Contracting in 1924. My father took over the family business in 1962. I started up Partex Design Build Ltd. in 1981.
Describe a typical work day for you?
Define "typical" please?
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."

How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
All you have to do is hire us.
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
U of T renovation, ten years ago.
$3.75 million, 36,000 sq. ft interior fit out, completed in 3.5 months, 65 guys on the floor some days, 72 change orders, still friends with architect and client when completed, but we were all pretty tired.
