The Law Office of Sonia Martinez opened office doors to Arizona residents in June, 2008. Attorney Sonia Martinez manages a law practice dedicated to Arizona residents and tribal members in city, state, federal and tribal courts. Tribal court admissions include the Tonto Apache Tribe, the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Gila River Indian Community and the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community. Main areas of practice include Criminal Justice, Family, Children's Law and Dependency. With experience working in large law firms, Ms. Martinez also counsels clients on cases involving Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, and Business matters.
Family Law Services include representation of individuals in Divorce and Custody matters, Post Decree Child Custody and Child Support Modifications, Minor Best Interest Evaluations and Services, Grandparental Rights, Termination of Parental Rights and Defense of Parental Rights and Family Reunification in Dependency matters involving DCS, Legal Guardianship, and Adoption. Ms. Martinez also represents children, including foster children and children accused of crimes in Juvenile court.
Criminal Law Services include representation of adults and juveniles on all Misdemeanor and Felony cases, including Major Felony cases, Sex Assault crimes, Traffic matters, DUI, Probation Violations, and counseling and respresentation on the safe and responsible use of Medical Marijuana for legal patients in Arizona.
Ms. Martinez also works as the Attorney Instructor for Archaeological Damage Investigation and Assessment Inc (ADIA). It provides consulting and training on all aspects of archaeological resource protection including the preparation of site vulnerability assessments and archaeological resource protection plans for terrestrial and submerged archaeological resources.
You may also find Ms. Martinez teaching a specialized seminar class at the ASU Indian Legal Program or in her position as Co-Chair of the 2015 Arizona State Bar Convention.
