Born of artistic genes in Oak Park, IL, Karen Bordenave is a second generation artist. Ripe with talent and completely self-taught, with over two decades of experience spanning from Illinois to California and back, her work includes individualized expressions in modern portraiture, still life and abstraction, as well as commissions. Favoring oil,
charcoal, ink and acrylic, she builds deep emotional content via her mediums of choice. Bordenave has lived surrounded and influenced by art, finding inspiration for her paintings everywhere and in everything.
