  Turning to Facebook for medical advice - a sure sign of desperation! Can anyone PLEASE tell me about their experiences with surgery for a torn meniscus, either repair, partial removal or complete removal of the meniscus? I'm supposed to have surgery on the 15th, the surgeon is not sure which of the above will happen until he gets in there, and I don't like what I've been reading about the results of this surgery. The results of leaving it untreated aren't much better, and alternative therapies are not well documented. The information available is all over the map, VERY FRUSTRATING!!! I'm hoping someone has real-world experience to offer. It would still be anecdotal, but it's better than any of the medical info I've been able to find!!!

  Empire state orthopedics. They take insurance and are on the UES. 212-876-5400. They have a group of doctors each specialize in a certain part. Back, foot, hand, etc. Specifically sports injuries. I go to one of them for my back. Sorry for the long answer.
