About us
Our story starts with humble beginnings in an old hay shed in Curtin as Aqua Harmony Swim School. We opened our doors in March 1998, with a tiny 46 learn-to-swim students.
The business took off, quickly expanding as children and their parents succeeded in learning all about the water in our fun, child-based program.
We continued to grow, and employed fantastic people with plenty of child-based experience, and our name spread.
In 2014, we changed location, allowing us to expand our program even more. We introduced a sensory play class for babies under 12 months of age, in our Saplings Room, allowing parents the opportunity to learn more about how their baby develops and how to create wonderful learning experiences for their child at home.
Our Toots Playspace and Cafe has proved very popular as a venue both children and their adults are happy to be in. This is a Playspace with a difference - plenty of space for children to play blocks, train sets, dress-ups, read books, practice building or shop keeping while parents have their coffee.
And we also have a SwimShop with a massive range of Funky Trunks and Funkita swim wear for babies, children and adults, a selection of Lycra and silicon caps, swim nappies, goggles, plus more!
We offer parent/child, pre-school aged, school aged, and adult classes.
Ducks Program: for children from 4 months up to 3 and a half years of age, and with 4 different age levels, these parent/child classes teach you and your child how to feel confident, and happy in the water, and help your child learn real swimming skills as well as water safety strategies. Led by our team of experienced teachers, you will be amazed at just how clever and happy your baby can be in the water. We offer these classes Mon-Sat mornings.
Frogs Program: for pre-school and young school aged children just learning water confidence, independence and foundation swimming skills, with classes ranging from the scared beginner to the confident intermediate swimmer. Four... show more levels mean there will be something to suit your 3+yo child. We work on swim safer strategies, body position, breath control, freestyle and backstroke skills, and stamina.
Crocodiles Program: with 4 levels within the Crocs program for school-aged swimmers, we can take your child from scared and nervous beginner to happy and confident swimmer. Initially working on freestyle and backstroke, as your child progresses we introduce breaststroke and butterfly, as well as continuing your child's swim safer education.
What then? We have two levels of pre-squad - Sharks and Killer Whales. This gives your child a gentle introduction to squad swimming which build your child into a strong and capable swimmer, with the skills to keep your child swimming well into adulthood competently and confidently. This is a great and fun way to complete the learn-to-swim component of your child's water education. Many of our children have great success in their school swimming carnivals, and go on to join squads and participate in competitive swimming. show more
