I remember reading a few posts here about places that offer financial assistance for the uninsured however we have insurance and they still want to do thousands of dollars worth of dental work. Is there anywhere around Nashville that offers financial help regardless of if you have insurance or not? I just want him to feel better. :(

Shandelayne N. asked:I was really frustrated with a couple of dentists I had seen last year and I posted a few months ago that I was looking for a good, honest dentist. People named a few people and those names kept repeating, I picked Dr. Whitefield. Let me give you some background. The first dentist from last year, charged me an arm and a leg for X-rays that took a 3 hour visit to get. After they read them they said I needed a tooth pulled and it would cost $2,000. to replace it. The second dentist got me in his office with a Groupon that said "X-rays & teeth cleaning". I went, it was a nice office, everyone was nice. but the teeth cleaning ended up being a polish of the front top teeth and a future deep cleaning that amounted to $1,300. I was not happy and not satisfied so I went to Dr. Whitefield today, The staff are so nice. the hygienist Ashley was the most gentle sweet hygienist I have ever had. In the end I had one quadrant deep cleaned, 3 regularly cleaned and my bill was under $300. I actually offered to make an appt. to be seen in 3 months and he said I was fine to wait 6 months. Honest, great personality and he even fixed a stain I had on one of my front teeth free of charge.
