About us
ABOUT US,
We are all one big family here at BeeRidges Farm, not just by blood but all of the people we call friends are family as well. We do a little bit of everything here on the farm, from raising animals and bee's to having bonfires and weddings. Every thing we offer is listed below. We have been at this farm for three years and have been hard at work stocking the pond and cleaning the events area. We are now open for our future friends to come out and see what all we have to offer. We are a working farm and are always working on projects so please be aware that we may ask you to move or stay out of certain areas.
Service Animals are Welcome, but do to our animal population, we cannot allow dogs or other pets.
EVENTS
Event packages will be customized to your needs. We are able to host up to 125 people for private events. So if you are planing a birthday party, reunion, company party, boy scout or girl scout event, wedding, church outing or any kind of event you can think of give us a call at (865) 202-5764.
FISHING
Fishing here at the farm is awesome! We have bass, catfish, lots of blue gill and one giant carp. Kids can easily catch fish and parents can have fun catching big bass as well. The largest bass caught to date was over five pounds. We have a covered area for fishing on rainy days and a large pond.
Rules, Prices And Hours
We want you to have an enjoyable time here while fishing so we will be limiting the amount of people actively fishing so please call ahead to make sure there is room before you leave. (865) 202-5764. We will also be posting on our Facebook and Instagram the availability of the pond. We use wrist bands to count how may people are around the pond and track paying customers.
RULES. We are catch and release only. There is a 2.00$ per pound fee for dead or injured fish.
No Alcohol, no glass packaging, no loud or profane music, no littering (yes that means cigarette butts), stay in designated areas. Fishing without... show more a wrist band is a 20.00$ fee; no sharing wrist bands and be courteous of other fishing. We reserve the right to limit the days and amount of people fishing to help keep the fish healthy. We also reserve the right to ask anyone violating our rules to leave the property.
PRICE.
Kids 8 and under: $5:00 per day
Kids 9 to 90: $10:00 per day
Kids 12 and under must be accompanied by paying adult at all times. Kids under 16 must be accompanied by an adult that stays on the farm.
SUSTAINABLE FARMING
BeeRidges Farm is a Sustainable, Organic, and Diversified (SOD) farm where we try to be as ecologically friendly as possible. The property had previously been abused and abandoned and we are actively trying to heal the land. We avoid artificial pesticides and herbicides and use manure and mulch to improve the soil. We are members of the Knoxville Permaculture Guild and are moving toward fullly sustainable farming. We are not completely there yet, but we are trying. We have cage free laying hens that have access to a very large chicken run filled with mulch. We use our Tennessee fainting goats as our primary land clearing weed eaters. We are in the process of employing ducks and guinea hens as our primary insect controllers.
