  Oral Alpan is actually an immunologist who also treats allergies. IMHO that's more overall approach for a complicated patient. http://oandoalpan.com/ He used to have privileges at Fairfax, but I think he gave them up. He has his own flow cytometry lab in house. He's been on the Newborn Screening Advisory Committee for the state of VA with me.   Where in Northern Virginia? I live in Alexandria and am seen in Chevy Chase, MD, which is close for me. I also know of doctors in Fredericksburg and Fairfax. I see Dr. Mark Scarupa at the Institute for Asthma and Allergy. He's extremely helpful and really cares about his patients. He was trained at Hopkins and their office actively participates in research. He's got a very good understanding of the co-occuring conditions and has helped me assemble a good team of specialists for my care. His office staff is extremely responsive and caring. Everyone I've recommended him to has had a positive experience. http://www.allergyasthma.us/ In Fredericksburg, one of the fellows who saw me during college has a practice. Dr. Mark Wenger was very compassionate and caring.
