  Can anyone recommend a Home Inspection Service? Looking at purchasing a One Bedroom Apartment in Manhattan (Midtown) and want to get an inspection before moving forward. The building was built in 1890 and needs a full renovation because it hasn't been touched in 35 years. Less than 500 Square feet Looking for someone licensed, and qualified for general inspection, as well as qualified for Asbestos and Lead Paint Testing. They say its never a good idea to get a recommendation from a realtor, so I turn to you. Update: After reviewing those few suggestions, I ended up going with one of the top recommendations on a site called Thumbtack. Very communicative and super flexible with my last minute schedule. Hopefully all goes well. Thanks for your help!

  We used this company. http://www.accuratebuilding.com. And no complaints and it was an old building with no flags. But be aware that home inspections are mostly visual so hidden issues stay mostly hidden

  Plumbing question- anyone with an older home ever change out their main Line P trap with a double vented trap? Is this a $500 or $5000 job?
