My gf recently got a VW beetle from a wholesale dealer in Chicago and replaced the battery but the alternator wasn't charging it so we bought a used one online and it's garbage. Doesn't function. and a local shop guy doesn't have the tools to do it. Apparently it requires tools used by VW specifically. Instead of taking it to the dealer, are there any shops around the west suburbs equipped to help us out?
