About us

A Vietnamese restaurant with donuts on the side, brought to you by the owners of Match, Nom-eez is both (Viet)Namese (get it?) and a play on words: “eat easy, snack easy.” That’s just what you can do here, no matter what time of day.
Inspired by food from his mother-in-law’s kitchen, Chef Matt Storch brings the down-home goodness of Mama T’s food to you daily. And yes—it comes with a side of Donut Crazy donuts. The limited-seating spot with counter service, located in Bridgeport’s Black Rock neighborhood, opened in April 2016.
Come in and sit down, or grab something to go. Mama T and Chef Storch prepare everything without MSG, using meat and bones from Fleishers Craft Butchery, Westport’s whole animal butcher shop. They source fresh produce from as nearby as possible--including Mama’s own incredible herb garden.
Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu features classic pho and twists on it (pho-ramen), grilled caramel and lemongrass chicken thighs, coconut braised pork and a steamed fish that Chef Storch just had to include after sampling his mother-in-law’s. “She made it for me one day and I was sold.” From congee and pho, to salads, noodle dishes, vegan options and more, there’s something for everyone. On the lighter side, you’ll find “snacks” such as egg rolls, see-through rolls, soup dumplings and nom nom buns stuffed with braised pork, sashimi or vegetables.
Storch and his Match business partners, Jason Wojnarowski (owner of Donut Crazy) and Susan McConnell, invite you to taste the classic fresh flavors of Vietnam: sweet, sour, salty, umami, with a contrast of hot and cold, tons of fresh herbs, and always a crunch, at Nom-eez.
