  Speaking of tap shoes, I can't find any place to buy white character shoes. I know that there must be a theatrical outlet somewhere, but the internet is failing me.   You need someone in family law or elder law. Many attorneys can draw up estate plans. Don't try to be too cheap. If there is no will, it usually has to go into Probate Court and Probate fees (set for the state of CA) are ridiculously high. Your Dad needs to be clearly capable of stating what he wants. He will need a will, might need a living trust (for the house), and should also have an Advance Care Directive, which gives you the power to make healthcare decisions for him if he cannot make them for himself. You might also need a Power of Attorney to take care of his money if he cannot do it for himself.
