About us
Studio Loubser was founded in 2017 by the merger of Liz Loubser Designer Jeweller and Eric Loubser Design. Liz Loubser and Eric Loubser are both established, well-known contemporary jewellers with years of experience in the industry. Our studio is situated in the vibrant city of Johannesburg, South Africa. We specialize in bespoke jewellery including wedding and engagement rings, necklaces, earrings, brooches and other contemporary objects. Our pieces are designed to meet our clients’ specific requirements. Our work is handmade to exacting quality standards. We use various precious and semi-precious stones, diamonds, gold, silver and platinum. We also incorporate interesting found objects.
In addition to our studio we co-own Tinsel Gallery with well-known contemporary jeweller, Geraldine Fenn. Tinsel is situated on the same premises as Studio Loubser, in Risidale (close to Linden). We host frequent exhibitions of South African jewellery design and fine objects that display exceptional creativity and innovation. The space also includes an exclusive collection of exciting and original jewellery by our country’s most talented contemporary jewellers. The collection is continually evolving and growing so keep an eye out for new, one-of-a-kind pieces at the shop or online at www.tinselgallery.com.
The Liz Loubser Jewellery school was established in 2011 and is run by well-known contemporary jewellers Marchand van Tonder and Rachelle Poon as lecturers. The school offers classes for beginners as well as advanced students. Design and various jewellery making skills and techniques are taught, enabling students to create their own unique jewellery pieces.
