About us
Currently a Towson University Student and aspiring photographer located in Frederick, MD – Matt works in conjunction with Erick Gibson Photography and JKI Productionz, Freestate Clothing, local models and friends.
Aiming to find a niche in the photography industry, Matt seeks to give a photojournalistic and artistic approach in conveying the gay community surrounding the DC and Baltimore area.
Inspired by the simplicity of Terry Richardson’s work, as well as Erick Gibson’s Photography, Patrick Smith’s photojournalism and Rey Rey’s photography from the San Francisco area…Matt seeks to fuse journalism, portraiture and culture into a style that is powerful, simple and exciting.
Matt has worked with Towson University’s campus newspaper ‘The Towerlight’, which printed 20,000 copies a week for the Towson University community. He worked as a staff and associate photography editor for a year and a half, until he stopped in 2010. He currently freelances around the Frederick area and has done work for the Gorilla Magazine of Frederick and interned with Erick Gibson Photography for two years.
The work you see in the travel section was done in a variety of locations through Matt’s south-east Asia volunteering and backpacking tour through Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Afterwards through Australia and New Zealand.
He plans to continue developing his talent in photography with whoever will join him and is open to new ideas and suggestions.
