WonderWhoopAss asked:Driving Lessons? Hello everyone! I am over 18 and have just moved to Orlando and obtained my learner's permit. I'm trying to find a place where I can have some behind-the-wheel lessons so that I can learn the basics and take the test. The only problem is that I don't make that much and all the places I've seen online cost an arm and a leg. Does anyone know of a way or any places that I can get driving lessons cheaply?

For instance the location here in GT was the McDonald's on Williams and DB Wood. But once we made an appointment that GT wasn't available so we chose to meet in Pflugerville. I figured this was good because it gave my son a different location to drive. Anyway great company. (We previously used GISD for Dr Ed until they discontinued the program).

I wasn't happy with the teacher that we got but my other son just went with driversed.com and everyone was great. They have the students driving mini coopers and parents are more than welcome to go on the driving lesson with them. Very professional and sensitive with the students. Plus you can go online to your students account to see what was taught and what needs more work. Pricing was good as well.

They have to complete the classroom work on the computer and then they practice with you. Once they finish the online portion, they are eligible to test for their permit, assuming they are old enough. We used driversed.com.

When you go to their site, make sure to select "Texas Parent Taught Drivers Ed". They will tell you everything you need to do to get started. You will need to get an approval from the State but it's pretty quick and only cost about $20 for the state fee. (They also offer an instructor taught online course but you still have to go to an approved place for the behind the wheel portion which will then cost almost as much as a whole program.) They also give friend and family discounts if you've used them before. My husband was even able to get a discount for the course he had to take after a speeding ticket. Keri B. replied:I just did the driversed.com for zoie. And it's approved in Oklahoma and she studied and did the courses online and I help her with the driving part. But she learned a lot and passed her permit test first time with no problem. It's so much cheaper and as long as you're willing to help cuz it's part parent taught then it's the way to go without paying $300+

We used driversed.com at a friend's recommendation and we were very satisfied. They cone to your house (or school, or work) in a mini cooper and take you out. My daughter's driver was Aaron and he was patient and friendly.
If you go with DriversEd.com for in car training, request to not have Mark.
