Tar Hollow ATV Event Rules

Basic Camp Rules:

1) Riders and passengers must wear a helmet at all times while underway
2) Speed limit in field/camping area is SLOW. Horseplay (wheelies, racing, donuts etc) in the field will not be tolerated.
3) Please take out what you brought in. There are no garbage facilities.
4) Pets must be “friendly” and restrained at all times. Please keep them on a leash or tie. Excessive barking will not be tolerated.
5) This is a primitive camping site. There are no water, electric, or sewage facilities. Porta Johns are provided on site. Campfires, grills and generators are ok.
6) Please be respectful to other campers. Keep the noise down after 11 pm.
7) The cook house will be open Sat evening and again on Sunday am thru lunch.

Trail Rules

1) All drivers and passengers must sign the waiver before each ride event (Saturday night and Sunday)
2) ATV insurance is required
3) Riders and passengers must wear a helmet at all times while underway
4) Passengers only on purpose built machines (SXS and manufactured 2-up atv’s)
5) Trails are designated as one way with the exception of “easy-back” trails to/from camp. Please be cautious while on the “easy-back” trails
6) No alcohol while on trails. Leave it at camp.
7) Saturday night ride is guided. Trails open at 8 am Sunday for the main event (self-guided).
8) Stay on designated trails only. Do not enter the wetlands areas.
9) Gentlemen’s trail rules apply. Ride at your own pace. Faster riders allow others to pull off the trail when overtaking slower riders.
10) Report any breakdowns, trail hazards or injuries to Tar Hollow Staff members.
11) Trails close Sunday at 4 pm. Until then, ride as much as you like. The trails are yours for the day.
12) Please don’t litter on the trail. The landowner rides these same trails and we like to keep him happy.

Trail Markings

Orange/Black Arrows designate the trail direction/change
W= Wrong Way. Turn around.
Hero= more challenging/difficult terrain. All heroes rejoin the... show more

X= Danger or Trail Intersection. Trail intersections are found where hero loops rejoin main trail. Please use caution.
Home= “easy back” trail to Camp. These are Two-Way trails. Please use caution.
