About us

The main objective of the organisation is to assist pet owners in the more impoverished areas where the owners do not have the means, through the:

• Sterilization of adult female cats & dogs
• De-worming, tick / flea treatment, mange treatment
• Full inoculations
• Additional veterinary treatment when required
• Supplying food, bedding (kennels and blankets)

The focus area at this stage is Nompumelelo informal settlement, where we work closely with the community to identify those in need, with more and more home owners coming forward asking for assistance.

Animals that are identified for sterilization are collected from their owners in the morning and returned the following day, after being sterilized, vaccinated and de-wormed. As part of the ‘delivery service’, we also supply food and bedding to the owner. To date we have also donated a kennel to nearly every dog sterilized. This also plays a part in community upliftment, as we use an unemployed gentleman to make the kennels. The kennels also get a coat of water proofing and varnish to keep them nice and dry.

Where we have been exposed to many cases of cruelty and uncaring, we have also been exposed to owners that genuinely love their pets and are so grateful for the assistance. Every time we drop a dog off with their owner, there is another waiting to ask if we can help their dogs as well. What started out as 2-3 a month has now become 3-4 a week.

Eye opening facts:

• An average dog can produce up to 12 puppies a year – 2 litters of 6 puppies

• An average cat has up to 8 kittens per litter and 2-3 litters per year – average of 20 kittens per year

We are solely reliant on public donations and anyone who is able to assist us in covering the cost of sterilization and veterinary bills can donate to one of the following accounts:
