Glow To Go Sunless Mobile Tanning was created because we love a nice golden tan! What we don’t like is the sun itself, and the damage it can do to our skin. Tanning outdoors or in a tanning bed is extremely dangerous. Spray tanning is the safe way to achieve that beautiful sun kissed glow without the damaging effects of the sun!
Dangers of Sun Tanning:
We've heard it a hundred times, but it bears repeating! Melanoma is now the 8th most frequent cancer in Canada, according to the Canadian Dermatology Association, affecting 5,500 people in 2011 and causing 950 deaths. Excessive ultraviolet (UV) exposure from the sun and sunbeds plays a leading role in the development of melanoma and is the most preventable cause of this disease. Not only does UV light cause cancer, it also causes premature aging! The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that “if you want to be tan, use a spray tan — which is a safe alternative to tanning by artificial or natural ultraviolet light.”
Science of Spray Tanning:
DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is the active ingredient used in our tanning solution. DHA is a colourless sugar that interacts with the dead cells located in the stratum corneum of the epidermis. As the sugar interacts with the dead skin cells, a color change occurs. The tan will last 7-10 days as long as it is cared for properly. Check out our website for details!
