We're looking for recommendations for a good agent and also a good mortgage broker to get us a good rate. We've decided to buy so don't bother commenting on how we shouldn't. Also, we've decided to use an agent to help us buy so don't bother trying to convince us out of that. I'd be nice to have an agent who doesn't force us to sign a contract to commit to them - as a first time home buyer this sounds incredibly limiting, but if the industry operates that way then I guess we have no choice.   We bought with [Equity One] (http://equityone.ca/) last year. Both Trevor and Jim were great to work with, and didn't pressure us at all. One other nice thing--they offer a buyer's rebate when you purchase a house through them.
