  Where can I find Cordura in Manhattan? Let's try once more, as last time it was unclear I wanted to buy it in person... Does anyone know where I can find Cordura fabric in Manhattan? In a shop, so I can walk in and feel the fabric. I have spent an amount close to $100 US in X-Pac fabrics and some of the pieces are too stiff of too thin. I rather touch what I am buying to be sure is what I want.

  Mood fabrics is my favorite fabric store I've visited, with dozens of ripstops and other outdoor fabrics. Some were on sale $5-10 per yard. 225 W 37 th St 3 rd Floor, moodfabrics.com . Pacific trimming on 38 th is the only decent city source of buckles I've found, pls lmk if you find a better one!

  I shop from moodfabrics.com. Yeah, they are sometimes expensive, but I've also been able to find hard to find fabrics from them as well. Quality stuff and when in doubt, order samples. I haven't been disappointed yet!

  Another store I LOVE is Mood. (moodfabrics.com) They're a designer fabric store, so expect to pay more, but it's all high quality fabric. Their shipping time is excellent as well, and swatches from them are usually only $1 each.

  Hi Mallory: Depends on the quality of leather you desire. Colorado Fabrics in Littleton may carry some leather, but I know they have faux leather. I have not seen leather in any of the other Colorado fabric stores. Online, you can get some very good leather at GorgeousFabrics.com, FabricMartFabrics.com, MoodFabrics.com, HartsFabric.com, NYFashionCenterFabrics.com, DenverFabrics.com and etc. the only thing is the hides available come and go regularly at these sites; so, one site might not always have leather hide inventory. I have also checked out, but never bought from, FashionLeather.com . I Hope this helps. Are you making costumes for an event?   You want to look for anything that says faux "garment" leather. Its going to be lighter than upholstery fabric but like all faux leathers its going to have some stiffness. Joann Fabrics has only one or two options. Your best bet is probably some kind of specialty fabric store like Mood Fabrics (www.moodfabrics.com). All other faux leather that you're gonna find is more than likely going to be designed for upholstery.
