DJ Ray Pena is most known for his performances throughout the Midwest rave scene and is one of the most versatile Vinyl DJ's the Midwest has to offer. The recent Dallas, Texas native, Ray Pena, is the Resident DJ at Club 906, River's Bend (w/DJ Andre) and Bar Louie in Kansas City. He is a "Global" DJ and makes up half of the DJ Junkies (with Morgan [tonik] Vibe). Ray has been pushing dance floors into high energy frenzies since 1998. He’s your DJ’s DJ. Ray Pena is one of very few DJ's that can take your requests and mega mix them on the spot. Impressive is what comes to mind when he jumps into his "live remixes" (that can only be experienced at his live shows). Since it is all spur of the moment, no two shows have ever been the same. His live mashups and mega mixes will hold you by the ear. Track selection is his secret to success. Ray Pena's library includes everything from underground to mainstream. Moombahton has recently been pushed to the front of Ray's crates. After all, the new sessions of Moombahton and Moombahsoul are what have been getting the most attention. And with tracks like his "Settle Down" remix, you can understand why. This moombahton bootleg has already been pushing dance floors into hip shaking sexiness. His soon to be released “Pusher Man” remix will mean the sexiness continues. He also has his follow up to “Moombahton Bass Vol 1” slated for sometime in 2013. It’s to be titled “Moombahton Bass Vol 2: The Moombahsoul Below.” It is a sure bet that you will find a full dance floor every time Ray is on his wheels of steel. Not many DJ's use vinyl anymore.
DJ Ray Pena began spinning at small house parties and birthdays in the summer of 1998. His first party was "Violated", about a year later, when he was inducted into the Goodyear Crew. Since then, Ray has performed at ragers, benefits, fashion shows, college circuits, weddings, clubs and even concerts. With (too many to count) demo street mixes and two CD releases, the "DJ Ray... show more Pena and Morgan Vibe vol:1" and DJ Ray Pena's "Moombahton Bass Vol 1", Ray has secured his talent to a permanent record. In January of 2008, Ray teamed up with Kent Vos as Co-Hosts of the "I Thought That Too" Podcast. "I Thought That Too" has since showcased Ray in a fashion of Untwisted Talk and Turntablism. Ray is also the show's behind the scenes editor and Co-Creator of Wally, the show's mascot. DJ Ray Pena is also Co-Owner of PlatinumBeats.com.
