  Jeanie M. wrote: Was quoted 500.00 for fuel pump replaced in 1988 Chevy truck. The tank was off and old pump was removed when it was towed there. Picked it up and was told it was 863.00 because more labor was needed. He also tried to sell me a battery for 150.00. it didn't need one, the truck kept dying because the cables weren't on right. Drove to the gas station and fuel started pouring out from under the truck.Owner told me to come back in a week, and leave it with him. No thanks. It would probably cost me 200.00 more. I Tightened the filler tube clamp myself. Very dissatisfied that he didn't honor the quote, a fuel pump only cost 50.00!
