I came to Murray for PT because I wanted to tone up for my wedding and generally get a bit more fit. Murray was very professional in my first meeting with him, talking through my requirements and trying to really understand my past experience and what I was looking to achieve and the sorts of activities I enjoyed and didn’t enjoy. I was impressed by this as I felt he was trying to build a programme to suit my needs and ensure we did activities that I enjoyed.
My first training session was brilliant! I did think I was going to die...in a good way! Murray set up a training circuit with boxing incorporated into it, which is one of my favourite activities. The session was fast paced and really stretched me, which is exactly what I was looking for. Murray is very patient, motivational in his technique and doesn’t let you away with anything.
Murray’s strength lies in knowing what you enjoy and what will stretch you – putting these together ensures that you get the most out of the session, which I feel I did. Overall I found Murray great to work with, good support to what I was trying to achieve and also interested in trying to ensure the sessions were as enjoyable as possible. I have since signed up for another 5 sessions to get back in shape after my honeymoon and I am confident Murray will get me back to where I was.

Each session is different and Murray pushes me as far as he can. I leave after an hour feeling like I’ve worked really hard and I can always feel my muscles working. Most importantly though we have a laugh so I actually really enjoy every session rather than dreading going to the gym.
Not only is my training programme now completely different, my diet is too. Rather than running for 30 minutes on the treadmill, I’ll now do 10 minutes of interval training to get my heart rate up from the start and move onto different machines to burn more calories. I also do far more weights which I always avoided as I didn’t want to bulk up – that’s never going to happen with the weights I lift but it’s really helped to tone up my muscles.
I used to get bored in the gym but now I can be more varied with the exercises I do and I am far more efficient with my time knowing the work I am doing will produce results.
Murray also got me to keep a food (and drink!) diet for a week. Although I ate pretty healthy food, Murray helped me to think about eating different foods at different times to increase my energy levels and help cut out those non essentials.
Weight loss was never the biggest driver for me, I wanted to feel comfortable in my jeans and lose inches – the scales didn’t matter. However, now I’ve seen the results I’m delighted to have lost pounds as well as inches!! I’ve lost just over a stone and 5cm’s from my waist. I’ve gone down a dress size and bought my 1st pair of size 12 jeans!
Most of all the biggest achievement for me is that I enjoy going to the gym again.

I had never been one for going to the gym and the thought of all those super-fit people and scary looking machines really put me off. However, having lost four stones through diet alone, I knew I needed to do something to improve my overall fitness and tone up. I had been a member of the gym for a while but had never gone and I knew that would only change if I tried something different
Murray was very friendly during our initial meeting and listened to my history, what I wanted to achieve and any concerns I had. I felt he really took on board what I said and built that into our sessions
Training with Murray gives me the discipline that I need to go to the gym regularly. It also means I vary my routine and try different equipment and exercises that I would never do if I was by myself
I have the confidence to go to the gym now and know that I’ll be making a real difference to my overall fitness. I actually look forward to going and trying to do better than the last time. And I don’t worry about those ‘super-fit people’ in the gym anymore
For me, just going regularly and enjoying it is a really big achievement. And the feeling of achievement when you start to notice a difference in your shape is just amazing.

I first went to Murray as I was looking for a change and some inspiration. The initial meeting with Murray was relaxed and comfortable. I did feel a bit overwhelmed on my first session but I put this down to not having ever had a session with a Personal Trainer before.
He was very helpful and encouraging, which I liked. What I enjoyed was each session was different, challenging and beneficial; I started looking forward to my sessions, which in turn gave me new ideas when I just went to the gym.
All in all I enjoyed my personal training sessions and hope to start them up again soon.

I initially came to Murray for Personal Training to get in better shape and to gain muscle for my wedding day.
Murray was friendly and easy to get on with; he was able to listen to my needs and put together training that was specific me which was to add muscle without doing too much cardio because of my active job.
Every session has been challenging - he really pushed me to my limits and encouraged me to work harder. I am now 2 weeks away from my wedding and in the best shape ever - my new wife will be proud!!

I had been thinking for a while of getting a personal trainer and never quite got round to it. I was quite motivated in attending the gym but did not feel like I was pushing myself enough and decided it was time to get some professional help.
My reasons for getting a PT were to understand the correct exercises and technique I should be doing for my body in order to tone up and to push me to the next level.
I was quite nervous prior to meeting Murray as I did not know what to expect, however he made me feel at ease straight away and re assured me that we would go at my pace. I felt really good after my first training session with Murray, he was constantly checking on me to make sure I was ok and motivating me at the same time, despite my constant giggles.
I have had a few sessions of PT now and I have noticed changes in my figure and also my fitness levels have increased. I will definitely book more sessions with Murray and would recommend him to everyone. He has a very professional approach and takes time in listening to my needs and I find he addresses them well.

Initially I came to Murray for PT as I felt my training was getting nowhere fast and needed some direction. In my first meeting he was very attentive and listened keenly to what i was looking to achieve. After my first session I felt as if had actually pushed myself harder and got more out of the session than any I had completed for many months. Murray has the ability to push you hard but in such a way as to keep you encouraged and having a feeling of success at the end of your session.
PT brings a focus to training which is key when you have a goal to achieve rather than drifting along doing the same things time after time.

I first started Personal Training sessions with Murray to get in shape for my wedding because I do not have the discipline to push myself. The minute I get a bit tired or feel I am working too hard, I have a tendency to stop and so my fitness levels were not progressing. I also have a fear of getting breathless which has prevented me from increasing my fitness levels in the past. During the initial meeting with Murray I felt very comfortable. Murray has a way of putting people at ease and it was clear that we were going to get on well and actually have some fun while I was training.
After my first session with Murray, I felt really motivated and that I was in good hands. Murray takes the time to understand what it is you are looking for from your training sessions. That is one of his strengths. Everything is tailored to you and he is really focused, using your goals to motivate you when the tiredness kicks in. Being flexible is also one of the things that I value in a personal trainer due to my difficult work schedule. Had Murray not been so flexible with my training and been prepared to change sessions at the last minute, I would have given up and probably felt uncomfortable in my Wedding dress. Murray helped me to achieve my goal and contributed to our fantastic Wedding day.

As keen archer who competes in competitions across the country, I was looking for a Personal Trainer with sports expertise to help me with my training. I have just bought a higher poundage bow and I needed someone to help me build up my strength to be able to shoot for the duration of a competition; which can last for 9 hours a day over several days. After meeting with Murray, I knew straight away that he understood which muscle groups I needed to work on and I was confident that he'd be able to help me reach my goals. I always finish the training sessions with Murray feeling like I have worked really hard, and I know he has pushed me further than I would have done left to my own devices. Murray keeps me on my toes, coming up with different programs for each session and is really positive and encouraging. Best of all my archery has improved significantly and I know I'll start bringing home the medals soon!

I came to Murray a few years ago looking to work on improving my cardio levels and strength along with toning up. Through regular PT sessions and a program to use in my own time at the gym, which is updated on a regular basis, Murray has helped me to achieve these goals. I feel much better, eat healthier and have more energy. When I suffered from a back injury last year Murray was encouraging and supportive as we incorporated new exercises into my training so I could keep coming to the gym.
