Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
My Grandfather: W. Ritchie MacCoy started a General Insurance Agency in 1944 and was 1 of 3 founding members of IBANS - Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia. My father followed in his foot-steps as did myself and my 2 brothers. I was in the General Insurance Business from 1976 until 1990, when I moved into the Life Insurance Business on a full-time basis. I moved to Chilliwack, B.C. in 1998 and covered 9 branch oiffices for Hub-Barton Insurance. In 2000, I left to once again ...become an Independent Life Insurance and Investment Planner operating as RitePartner Financial Services.
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
Financial Planning for retirement is the most important decision you will ever make and most Canadians grossly underestimate the money required for retirement. Why? Because while they don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan! Few have the expertise to calculate the retirement risks of: Life Expectancy, Inflation, Asset Allocation, Withdrawal Rate & Health Care and/or implementation of a financial plan. In fact, but most Canadians do not have a Retirement plan. Our plan is more comprehensive. WHY? Because it also includes Insurance, Tax and Estate Planning. - Everyone needs professional financial advice. I enjoy what I do because I get to help people everyday.
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
I treat my clients exactly how I would want to be treated plus I do not recommend any product ...unless I have it myself.
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
Delivering a Critical Illness claim cheque for $100,000 to my golf buddy.
