Also unfortunate that doctors get very minimal breastfeeding education while in medical school and that lots of moms blindly follow, what is sometimes, bad advice/practices. I second Dr. Hardie/Stevens office and also Heidi(certified CLC). I heard those WIC girls are pretty cool too...
Gretchen B. replied:Jessica~ have you gone to la leche league? This is the most wonderful group of mothers for someone like you. Most do attachment parenting which would be a a very natural way of parenting. #1 rule, always take a dr advice with a grain of salt when it comes to breast feeding. They get less than 2 hours of studying when it comes to breast feeding. La leche leaders have over 60 hours of studying done just on breast feeding and have the experience. I highly recommend the book "the womanly art of breast feeding" and anything written by dr sears.
