About us
After six dormant seasons, the Palisades Interstate Park Commission is resurrecting their greatest asset: the Tallman Mountain State Park Pool. They released a new Request for Proposals on July 23rd in search for a new pool operator under a public-private partnership. This spectacular complex is outfitted with ample parking, adult and kiddie pools in separate areas, and two historic stone structures housing the locker rooms, offices, and pool mechanics. In addition, the pool has a picturesque view of the Hudson River that is unrivaled in the Tri State area.
Over the past five years, the Park’s attendance has experienced an upward swing nearing almost 300,000 visitors annually. The growing attendance of the park paired with a strong local support of the pool establishes an unbelievable opportunity to reopen an entity that will immediately be successful. Not only can the pool be transformed into a popular summertime destination spot, but it can also support an array of activities ranging from swim and scuba lessons to weddings and corporate events to a summer camp destination to a daytime tourist attraction for one of the best views in Rockland County.
