She lives on the UEW and is a newly single parent who is struggling to discipline her 9 year old....someone told her he may have a defiant disorder.....I personally think her yelling doesn't work!   I have a friend who worked with Manhattan Psychology Group...I think they have a few different offices. Her son was diagnosed with ODD and after a few sessions has seen a great improvement....looks like they may have a parenting class coming up too if this is what she is looking for: http://manhattanpsychologygroup.com/57-parenting-workshop-getting-child-listen-without-yelling/ Not sure about more long term parenting classes but may be worth asking.
