About us
Rescued Pets Movement Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides a second chance for thousands of homeless dogs and cats through rehabilitation and transport to forever homes in communities throughout the country that have a need for adoptable pets.
Thousands of dogs and cats are needlessly euthanized in the Greater Houston area each year simply because of pet overpopulation. After working with various rescue groups for many years, the founders of Rescued Pets Movement have come to realize the best way to save these dogs and cats is to build solid relationships with reputable shelters and rescue groups here and in areas of the U.S. where pet overpopulation isn’t such a dire issue, and then arrange transportation to get the animals there. Not only is this the best way to save Houston’s shelter pets from euthanasia, but we believe it will be the impetus in helping Houston shelters become no-kill shelters. As of April 1, 2015, by partnering with BARC, Rescued Pets Movement has saved more than 6000 adoptable pets by transporting them to Colorado.
We’re excited by what we’re doing, but we’ll need help. After Rescued Pets Movement removes animals from shelters, the dogs and cats will need short-term foster homes until we can arrange their transportation. We’ll need help organizing fundraising efforts to cover transportation costs. As our movement grows, we may need more drivers. We may need someone to stuff envelopes.

Jessie C. asked:Hi! I helped with Cowboy Church in Orange and some boots on the ground work in Houston. I also did a supply drive and rented out a storage unit with a few fellow rescuers. We have a lot of leftover dog/cat supplies - some are going to go to FL but they were donated to help Harvey victims and rescue efforts. I have already contacted the big groups (APA, Humane Society, etc) and they are good on supplies. So, I would really like to help out the smaller 501c3 rescues and individuals that took in foster dogs from Hurricane Harvey. We have food, toys, leashes, crates, and lots more.
