About us

Basson's Arboriculture originaly based in Wickford but have recently moved to Stanford Le Hope operates in and around Essex .

We cover the following tree work – felling, root digging, crown thinning, crown raising, crown reductions, dead wooding, limb removals, planting and clearing fallen/hung up trees.

We also cover trimming and shaping of hedges and large shrubs.



Arboriculture is the art, science, technology and business of tree care. Arboriculture is practiced by arborists who are trained to promote tree health, discern tree problems and take measures to correct them.





• Our mission statement is to deliver professional work of the highest standard that is appropriate for the tree and aesthetically pleasing.

• Our quotes are free of charge, come with no obligation and are provided by a fully qualified tree surgeon. We will arrive punctually at a time convenient for you.

• We offer free advice and a wealth of experience regarding matters such as the health of a tree, ways to allow more light into your garden, the best time of year for pruning work to be carried out, what trees/plants may be suitable for planting to achieve your desired effect.

• You will quickly realise that we are passionate about trees, nature and the environment. Accordingly our advice looks at what is best for the welfare of the tree rather than what will make us the most money.

• We provide help with negotiating work to a tree subject to a Tree Preservation Orders and always ensure that we comply fully with the relevant laws and regulations.

• We employ stringent health and safety standards including comprehensive risk assessments and equipment checks.

• We use bio-degradable chain oil to help protect the environment.

• We pride ourselves not in how quickly we can climb a tree or how high we can climb it, but on how the tree looks at the end of the completed work

• Once we have finished, we will leave your garden clear and tidy and will remove the waste.

Basson's Arboriculture was formed in January 2006. Before that, Simon Basson worked for fourteen years with a local tree surgery firm based
in Stanford Le Hope, Essex . Simon Basson has an impeccable record
with Basildon Council and Thurrock Council and throughout the private sector for exceptional, high quality tree work which is always reasonably priced.

Simon Basson is a qualified arborist (tree surgeon) with 17 years professional experience, and with qualifications for Arboriculture and Horticulture studied at Writtle collage.
