About us

The New Hope Valley Railway is The Triangle’s Train, an all volunteer operated railroad where children, parents, grandparents and others can enjoy a day together riding a train, learning about railroad history, watching the G Scale model garden railroad, visiting the outdoor North Carolina Railroad Museum and gift shop or viewing equipment in the railroad yard.

The public is invited to visit this unique location in historic Bonsal, North Carolina, located off of U.S. Highway 1, Exit 89 just 30 minutes southwest of downtown Raleigh.

Trains generally operate one Saturday each month beginning in the spring through the end of the year. There are also special Halloween and Santa trains for the holidays. The first train departs the depot at 11 a.m. and the last at 3 p.m.

Our train rides take place in all weather conditions-rain, snow, wind, sleet, heat waves, etc. Please dress accordingly.

Go to www.TriangleTrain.com to see the dates for public train rides, times and fares. Purchasing tickets online in advance is recommended as available seats can fill up quickly.
