This summer marks the fifteenth consecutive season for Kayitz BaKibbutz, a co-ed Orthodox summer camp located on Kibbutz Shluchot in the Bet Shean Valley in Israel. Situated at the foothills of the Gilboa Mountains, and surrounded by orchards, fishponds, and date groves, Shluchot provides the perfect setting for a summer camp. Kayitz BaKibbutz combines the best of the kibbutz lifestyle with the high standards of American camping as well as providing a physically and emotionally safe environment conducive to forming life long friendships. The camp includes a comprehensive program of sports, swimming, crafts, hikes, music and Sheurim Toraniim.
Through creative and fun programming the staff instills the campers with a love of Eretz Yisrael and its natural resources. Exposure to the unique philosophy of a religious Kibbutz teaches respect for their fellow camper and Torat Yisrael.
Kayitz BaKibbutz is a two session summer camp for graduates of 4-9th grade. Second session from July 26-August 9 is still accepting applicants.

Susan K. asked:I am looking for am summer program for my English and Hebrew speaking 15 year old daughter. She is available as of July 11th on.. We are very open and even open to something outside the country, but budget is an issue. She is a great student, very responsible and mature. Ideally I would.like to spend some time with kids from other places including the US and where she can speak English. Any ideas would be appreciated. The program could be volunteer, work a trip or a combination. Thanks Susan AshkenaziErica S. replied:My son is 15 going into 10 th grade and has been going to Camp Shluchot for several years, both from when we were living in US and since we moved to Israel. It is an Anglo style camp for kids who still want that while living in Israel and at MUCH lower prices from US camps. They have a website Kayitz.com
