Nola Knitters
About us
Our mission is to provide warm, hand-crafted clothing to folks experiencing homelessness-and therefore extreme health risks such as hypothermia-in our local community with our very own hands and hearts. Our members are united by the desires to give, learn, teach, engage with new friends, and for many of us, to drink good beer. At any gathering, you'll have the opportunity both to learn methods for crafting warm clothing items and to teach excited new volunteers what you've learned. At the end of it all, the reason for our teaching and learning the skills of knitting and crocheting are displayed when we hand deliver all warm items directly into the hands of folks experiencing homelessness during winter months.
