COMPANY OVERVIEW FOR STEMAR SECURITY SYSTEMS
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Stemar Security Systems was established in 1989 specialising predominantly in residential security and were contracted by the most of the prominent armed reaction groups to provide electronic security solutions for their clients. The years that followed saw us develop into preferred security providers and advisors for commercial and industrial markets. The company as well as all technical and tactical staff members are registered with PSIRA (PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY REGULATORY AUTHORITY) and attend numerous sales, technical and training courses offered by suppliers and manufacturers to remain up to date with the latest technology and equipment.
SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES
Although Stemar Security Systems have a wealth of knowledge gained through more than 25 years of experience, we have always remained competitive in the industry and strive to maintain the highest level of service and installations which attribute to our good reputation. The following is a brief description of our specialised service and installations:
ELECTRONIC INSTALLATIONS
ELECTRIFIED FENCING
Electrified fencing is an excellent deterrent as it monitors and protects the first line of defence being the perimeter of the property. Not only does the electrified fencing serve as a physical barrier of a high voltage shock, but also a perimeter alarm system. Should the wires be cut or breached, e.g. a blanket or similar thrown over the wires, the fence alarm immediately activates alerting both the client of a possible intrusion as well as the armed reaction company to whom the client is linked to. For large business parks and residential estates, zoned electric fences can be erected to allow a direct response to the area of intrusion as well as reducing time spent on fault finding. These zoned fences can be linked to mimic panels installed in guard rooms or networkable to PC’s with report monitoring on site or remotely. ALARM AND PANIC SYSTEMS
Although our technicians are trained for repairs and maintenance of most alarm systems on the market, we specialise in Paradox Alarm Systems due to their advanced technology. Standard and specialised detectors are available to detect almost any requirement, whether internal, external, pet friendly, temperature fluctuations, smoke, fire, glass break, long range, barriers of windows and doors, high foliage areas etc, we have the solutions. Where the use of cabling between the alarm control panel and indoor / outdoor detectors become impractical, WIRELESS alarm equipment is available at very competitive pricing. Paradox alarm systems can be controlled by GSM units, transceiver remotes (send and receive information) for local functionality as well as Smart Phone applications, i.e. “iParadox” on Android and iPhone for local and remote operation (WIFI and 3G). The app allows the user to arm / disarm individual partitions in six different modes as well as the functionality to bypass zones. One is able to trigger gates, garage doors, outdoor lights etc from both the app and remote. The Paradox alarm system can be connected to any armed response company.
INTERCOM SYSTEMS
We utilise a wide range of audio and video intercom systems from reputable suppliers to ensure replacement components are readily available. Audio and Video intercom systems are available in kit form as well as component based for larger or custom installations.
Residential complexes and estates are moving away from wired intercom systems to the more practical and popular GSM based intercom systems. The latest on the market is the MK II which includes an embedded SIM which cannot be stolen. Three numbers can be programmed per unit and includes an integrated remote system and secure key pad egress with exit codes sms’d to residents for the visitors. The body corporate will have full control over the system via the internet for editing owner / tenant information as well as access to a variety of reports, usage, itemised billing, etc.
CCTV – IP AND ANALOGUE
CCTV has evolved from being a traditional security system to assisting in many aspects of emergency management and response. People enjoy a greater amount of security in their homes, business are able to protect their establishments and provide their customers with a higher level of protection and security and Public places such as airports, banks, military facilities, casinos etc also greatly benefit by preventing possible crimes from happening. Home CCTV systems are increasingly becoming more popular as a more cost effective way of monitoring and protecting homes, gardens and outdoor areas. Where wired applications become impractical, wireless solutions are available.
CCTV systems can be locally viewed on dedicated CCTV monitors, existing TV systems as well as remotely accessed by smart phones, tablets etc via the internet to allow the user to monitor the activity of their CCTV system from anywhere in the world.
AUTOMATION AND ACCESS CONTROL
We utilise Centurion Systems range of equipment for the automation of gates and garage doors due to their reliability as well after sales service. Centurion Systems have battery backup solutions for sliding and swing gates, garage doors, roller shutters, booms etc.
We specialise in all forms of vehicle and pedestrian access control systems which include the implementation of magnetic and electric strike locks, Biometric (finger print) readers, card and proximity readers, wired / wireless access key pads, turnstiles, metal detectors, manual / automated booms and time & attendance systems.
RENTAL OPTIONS
Rental options are available for corporate establishments which have many benefits. The rental option is flexible and fully tax deductible, avoids capital expenditure approvals and includes the option to upgrade the equipment during the contract as technology improves or as the company outgrows the equipment.
SERVICE, REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
Our service teams are equipped with new and / or reconditioned PC boards for the most popular types of gate motors, intercom systems, energisers etc. as well as replacement batteries. Should the systems not be repairable on site, we will remove and deliver them to the various suppliers or manufacturers for repairs, replacement or exchange units.
Our office hours are between 08h00 and 17h00, Monday to Friday however we can accommodate installations over weekends and after hours where necessary. In addition, we have technicians on 24 hour standby for emergencies.
It is of vital importance to regularly check all electronic equipment such as panic buttons, radio transmitters, alarm outputs, etc. to ensure that the system is fully functional for when it’s most needed. Our services include maintenance contracts for the regular testing of electronic equipment, servicing of mechanical equipment such as gate and garage motors, foliage removal and general upkeep of all systems.
