About us
I have been seriously surf fishing for over 15 years mainly targeting shark. I got into building my own surf rods 4 years ago after years of spending my money on store bought rods that just could not meet my needs or demands for the style of fishing I did. I started to build my own rods to fit my needs and what I liked as far as ease of castability, the way it fit my hands and arm length and to be able to stand up to large fish and the abuse that comes with fishing the surf. After years of making rods for my self and for a few friends that have fished custom rods for years, my friendstold me that the rods I had built for them casted and felt better than some of the rods that they had custom made for them. I had made a few extra rods and would take them to the surf with me and sold a few to people that were out fishing and they too would call and say they really enjoyed their rods and even built them some more rods. So after my good friend and sharking mentor Ricky kept urging me to start building and selling more rods, I decided to start Art's Custom Rods. I don't build them too fancy, but I do build them very functional and I am sure you will enjoy your rod.Like my logo says"Serious Surf Rods" "Don't Look At 'Em Fish'Em"
