I need to see a doctor, but the job loss was sudden and unexpected. I'm trying to get unemployment, but it may be two weeks, or I may not get it, so I definitely need something that's cheap. I basically just need someone to look down my throat, go "Yep you have strep, have some antibiotics" and that's it.   Instead of heading to an urgent care, I would try an evening care facility, such as Pinnacle Health Family Care. They will have a rapid strep test onsite. http://www.pinnaclehealth.org/Locations---Directions/Emergency-Urgent-Care/Location-2.aspx It'll be a lot cheaper than urgent care. The RX they give you for strep should be taken to Wal-Mart for their four dollar formulary.
