  One of the best restaurants I've ever been to is [Trattoria Stella](http://www.stellatc.com/). It's expensive, but they have a different menu every day depending on what local ingredients they have and it's all *glorious*. The staff is incredibly helpful in regard to which wines pair with what you order, and it's set in an ex-insane asylum that's been preserved and turned into an incredibly interesting shopping and dining area. Definitely classy, definitely fun, and perfect for a birthday!
