I enjoy people watching and being able to capture the interaction between families through my lens. I want photographs that I take to be keepsakes and to be brought out for discussions with generations of family members.
Think about your favourite photo; the one where your family was captured off-guard with natural smiles/laughs and where someone managed to snap the photograph before you were able to compose yourselves. That is what I enjoy capturing. The moments where you are not regimental and looking towards the camera with a strained smile. I prefer my clients to have natural, fun-filled expressions that were captured during a moment of interaction of loved ones. Although, I can capture the tantrums too sometimes!!
This is what photography should be about. Capturing people's expression of personality and not having to be directed to sit in front of the camera, or to do an activity that you wouldn't do in a 1,000 years; like dancing around in bubbles created by a bubble machine.
