post a PUBLIC picture of your animal, along with their details & location they went missing – please also ensure you can access your ‘other’ inbox on Facebook where any messages from non-friends may end up
You should put up posters around the area your animal was lost AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, it can also be an idea to speak to neighbours & organise a leaflet drop

If you find a stray dog – IT IS THE LAW to report this to the local dog warden – if you take photos of the dog, please remove its collar and/or ensure that any identifying features aren’t seen in the photo to ensure that the dog is only returned to his or her true owner – found dogs can also be registered on www.doglost.co.uk

For any found animal, if possible please take to a vets who will be able to scan the animal FREE OF CHARGE to find out if the animal is micro-chipped – if the animal is not micro-chipped they will then help you to ensure that the animal is kept safe until his or her owners can be found
If you find a deceased domesticated animal, if possible, please take to a vet who will scan for a microchip. If you are unable to do this, please contact Cherwell DC environmental health with the exact location and they will collect and check for a microchip. If you take a photo, please DO NOT post to the group, please send by PM to anyone who asks to see the picture, or send by PM to the group admin
