Los Angeles Doctors Does anyone here have a mid-city rheumatologist that they recommend? My current doctor is adding an annual $500 administrative fee on top of insurance and co-pays. I appreciate that he is so quick to answer my emails while he is traveling but I can't justify that kind of expense when I average two visits and four emails a year. Especially when I made sure to shell out for a Covered CA plan that keeps him in network. I find it likely I'll have to find a new doctor in the new year. I can easily travel to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Miracle Mile, Koreatown, and Downtown for office visits and am on a Blue Shield PPO plan. I'm going through the insurance provider page but it's always nice to have personal/doctor referral.

You can contact your local lupus support group leader or attend a meeting to inquire who members there go to and like and/or have been to and don't like. Here's group information: http://lupusla.org/patient-services/support-groups/ The Center for Lupus Care might also be able to provide assistance. http://www.center4 lupuscare.org/Home_Page.html#.Vkuau9-rSu4 Or try Lupus Foundation of Southern California. http://www.lupussocal.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=158&Itemid=170
