Looking for a Wine Bar in Santiago, Chile. Hello All,
I am heading to Santiago for a couple days next week and hoping to find a Wine Bar that I can taste a couple wines and maybe buy a bottle and hang out for awhile. Doesn't need to have food. Does anyone have some suggestions on places? Thanks!

I'm afraid I am more of a soft drinks kind of guy since the last time I got drunk I woke up eight hours later still drunk. I prefer that tourists go on full-day wine tours so that they can get proper meals along their wines. However, https://www.lesdixvins.cl/ has recurring wine events, and http://bocanariz.cl/ has a nice sample of wines. Have fun!
Where to drink great wine in Santiago? Hi there, we're visiting Santiago tomorrow for a couple of days for the start of our honeymoon and my wife and I are big wine fans. Where are the best places to drink great local wine in Santiago?
Are there any great wine bar recommendations or even wineries within driving distance of the city that are worth a look?
Thank you!

I've never been to this place but it looks nice: http://bocanariz.cl/ Not sure how expensive, probably a little bit, but I guess you have that into consideration.

I love Baco near metro Los Leones. It has a very friendly atmosphere and great service. It's one of the few places that brings you complimentary water to the table and keeps it filled. The food is excellent for both omnivores and vegetarians. Try the vegetarian lasagna. Finally, they have a great wine list to choose from and a rotating selection of wines on tap.

Another commenter mentioned Bocanariz in Lastarria. Sure, they have a great wine selection, but I did not have a good experience there. The place is crowded, and the service is nothing to write home about even though it's better than many Chilean establishments.
You can't really go wrong with wines at just about any restaurant in Santiago. It's an important part of the culture. Try a traditional family restaurant l like Don Peyo.

If you are a fan of Bordeaux varietals, try the blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere. My favorite is Carmen Grande Vidure. It's a blend of Cabernet and old vine Carmenere. It should cost about $4.500 at a Jumbo.
