  Whats the best route to go for an injury for someone without insurance? I hurt my ankle pretty bad last night skateboarding and I think I either tore something or twisted it really bad. I cant even walk a few steps. The chiropractor my mom works at is going to do free xrays but obviously that's about all he can do. I want to get it checked out by a doctor but also can't afford several hundred dollars in a doctor visit.

  Jeff - I have crutches, a walker and other things if you need to borrow them. I also had good care at Milwaukee Heritage Health Center on MLK Drive. 2555 N Doctor M.L.K. Dr, Milwaukee, WI Phone:(414) 372-8080. We went there for about a year-and-a-half til we got insurance. You might be in for a wait, but you'll get seen and taken care of. Good luck and in the interim remember: Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation (RICE). Signed, someone who has spent the last year dealing with ankle issues. It's like pulling teeth (no pun intended) getting a receptionist to tell you if they have Black Dentists.
