About us
Art Wisehart and his family have transformed this unique house with round rooms and turrets into a craftsman's refuge. Come see what you get when you combine the unusual bones of this 20-year-old house, decades of construction of experience, an eye for fine design with a tuned-in heart and love of materials. The details are very cool.
Featuring hand-made furniture, artisan-crafted stone and wood-work, glorious views and distinctive round rooms, the Wisehart Springs Inn is a Paonia and North Fork Valley Attraction in itself. Our charming, artisan-built great room overlooks our field of yaks and horses with a view of Lamborn Mountain and Landsend in the distance.
The house is walkable to downtown Paonia, while still secluded in the Valley. In a few minutes, you can reach the nearby canal for a hike. We are central to many great hikes and summer activities throughout the Western Slope.
Rent the entire second floor for your next trip to Colorado with family or friends. You will have this 3-bedroom space all to yourselves with full kitchen, large dining table, 2 seating areas, 3 bathrooms and an outdoor deck with views of the mountains. The upstairs villa is available by the week, Saturday to Saturday.
We provide ingredients for your first breakfast including eggs, cheese, bread and veggies - all local and organic from this valley. Linens are provided for each room and bathroom. Additionally, bathrooms can be freshened daily, if desired.

The 3 bedrooms are described below:
The Morning Light Room:
This quaint, circular room has a queen size bed and private bath. Unique artistry and bathroom mosaics add to the charm of the experience. The mosaics in this bathroom (step down) are of a sunrise and a shell spiral. The quilt is by our neighbor and friend, artist Lynn Mattingly.
The Mountain View Room:
Panoramic, circular view of Lamborn Mesa and the valley. Meditative is the word... show more that describes this room experience with a queen size bed and a beautiful quilt by Lynn Mattingly. The bath next door features two mosaics – a moonrise and a double-flower motif. This room has great access to our lovely 2nd floor sitting room and terrace.
The Eagle’s Nest Room:
Surround yourself in this circular room with a queen size bed with another gorgeous quilt by Lynn Mattingly, a private European style bathroom and views of orchards and mountains. An exclusive sleeping experience with access to our private deck and exclusive sitting room.
We are also happy to host any event for you, including weddings, retreats, reunions, workshops or end of life celebrations. The Great Hall can accommodate up to 70 people with two banquet tables and an open floor for festivities. It is cool in the summer and warm in winter with a grand, river stone fireplace.
