Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
I am a lifelong resident of Knoxville, Tennessee. I have been in the business of pest control since 1992. I had a small business with two partners from 2002 to 2011 when I broke out on my own. My wife has been supportive and involved in the business and it has been a wonderful life.
Describe a typical work day for you?
I get up in the morning, get in touch with my two technicians to check on and go over the business of the day making sure they have all they need to do a superior job. I still schedule my own customers and work with my guys. We all are able to sell and provide all services.
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
I get inspiration from the relationships I have with my customers. I have some customers that I have been seeing for 20+ years, some that I service the homes of all of their family members. Relationship is key.
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
I believe word of mouth is the best form of advertisement. If they have questions or want to talk to another customer, I have several that would be willing to talk to a potential customer to share their experience with my business.
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
When I get invited to family events of my customers and when we know each other so well we can ask about family members by name. Some customers are my friends, they even recognize my voice on the phone when I call to schedule.
