Rose1982 replied:http://www.ackerhome.ca/ Phil is awesome. He did ours just in January. He's super thorough and loves his job. He takes pictures of everything he's doing and emails them to his partner on the spot. At the end of the session they print up a full colour report with pictures and give you all the findings on a disc too. We've been in our new place a month and so far he was spot on.

Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
I grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. I entered the home inspection business due to my interest in homes and the desire to be an have a business of my own.
Describe a typical work day for you?
Planning for my day's activity starts at 6:00am. I review inspections I'm scheduled to conduct during the current day, to ensure all paperwork and computer contract information is in order. Tuesdays through Saturdays, I'm typically scheduled to conduct 3 inspection, starting at 9:00 and often completed at about 5:00. I enjoy the personal contact I have with each client, and in being able to advise them about either the current home they live in or one they consider purchasing. Most evenings have an hour or two of dealing with phone calls and emails, and the necessary office tasks that need attention.
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
My enthusiasm comes from the joy of helping my clients, on a subject that is dear to their hearts - thier homes.
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
The can ensure they get the best possible service with the knowledge that I carry the highest professional credentials, experience, and peer acknowledgements of any inspector in the Ottawa area. I seek validation after each inspection that the level of service fully meets client expectations, and invite clients to provide public reviews of the services they received from Acker Home Inspection.
