  Recommendations for doctors Hi, I am in Boise at the moment and looking for a functional medicine doctor and/or any other type of specialist in Idaho that is attentive, thorough, and does extensive testing. I have a history with parasites and have continued to have gut issues over the past few years. Lately, I have had no luck with doctors in Idaho and am incredibly uncomfortable with all of my symptoms. I am not entirely sure what is happening to me, so if someone could please recommend a doctor to me that helped you in the past with similar issues I would be very grateful.

  I'm really reading a lot between the lines of your post and might be way off base here, but it sounds like you're maybe looking for a doctor who is more about gut bacteria and candida and things like that? I went to [Gail Eberharter](http://www.funmedidaho.com/) in Boise for a while, and she was a little too crunchy for me. She's a GP. I don't really know of a gastroenterologist, I'm afraid.

  Dr. Gail Eberharter at http://www.funmedidaho.com/ is an MD and Naturopath, but they have a waiting list 50+ people long at the moment. They take Blue Cross and Regence Blue Shield (but not Blue Cross Connect), and they do bill insurance even if out-of-network. It took me 4 months to get an appointment, but as of August she is now my doctor, and she and her nurse and nutritionists are fantastic.
