In May 2015, I was referred by a friend to Saul who advised me that he could replace the computerized dashboard in my car. I gave him $300 in cash and left my car with him. I picked it up the following day and he said it was fixed. It was not fixed. The break lights were staying on the gauges on the dash were going out and the alarm would go off at random (typical symptoms of a computer problem). I brought it back to him. He kept it again for another night and put a different dashboard in. He charged me another $100. Over the summer of 2015, I brought my car back to Kings for repairs approximately nine times. I now had a dash that showed an odometer reading of 170K miles, vs. the original mileage of 105K. The second computer he installed is not working as of this writing. In September of this year, I brought my car to Kings to install a new fuel pump and control module. I was required to give them $200 in cash up front. They had my car for two weeks. I patiently called them a few times per week to check the status of repairs. I kept hearing, "We can't find a part....we are still looking." I gave up and had the car towed to a different garage; a more reputable one to say the least. I called my new mechanic today and he asked me if I was aware that the inside of my car was completely torn apart. I took several photo graphs. The back passenger seat was lodged between the two front seats, my trunk was completely opened and torn apart, there were fuses and dashboard covers on the floor. In the engine, hoses were unclamped...the list goes on. I was told that Kings tried erroneously to access the fuel pump and module from the floor of the back seat. It is proper protocol to access that part of a car by putting it on a lift and accessing and testing the part from that area. It gets much better. Kings did remove my fuel pump module and kept it. It is not with the car. I don't know whether the module was good or bad, I just know that King's has it and is refusing to give it back to me. I called Kings and kindly asked them to refund my money. All of it. I have given them $600 since May 2015 and nothing.....NOTHING on my car has been fixed. That is exactly what I said over the phone. My request was met with a man named "Kinte' " (sp?) screaming at me to the point where I could not get a word in. So it's off to small claims court. I paid Kings Towing and Auto Repair $600 and got exactly nothing. They took my money. Additionally, I am going to receive a bill from the "reputable" mechanic who now is working on my car to literally put the interior back together. Kings needs to pay for that. Kings will also be responsible for refunding me the $600 I paid them. They will be responsible for towing fees, and the cost of my fuel pump module. Finally, they will also be required to pay for Court costs. I'm filing for a total in excess of $1200.00. I have witnesses, photos and tons of documentation. A well operated business would be smart and simply refund my $600 as requested. Don't get sucked in. These guys are very charming but they are a sham auto repair shop, with a lot of thugs hanging around.
